Located in the Lazio region, this is our second solar plant under construction in Italy. Once operational, it will generate enough electricity to meet the annual needs of around 17,000 people – a tenth of the population of Perugia. The clean energy produced will prevent the emission of 24,670 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to eliminating 60,000 return flights between Milan and Lecce.
In addition, the plant will save 15.48 million cubic metres of natural gas per year, which would otherwise be used by combined cycle gas turbines (CCGTs) to produce the same amount of energy.
In line with our commitment to environmental and social responsibility, the Camposcala plant will also integrate agrivoltaic projects, including olive cultivation and the installation of beehives, promoting sustainability and biodiversity alongside renewable energy production.
We expect the construction of the plant to create between 300 and 410 direct and indirect jobs by 2024, bringing significant economic benefits to the local community.
