Located in the northern region of Portugal, this solar plant will be our first in the country. The plant will produce enough clean energy to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 14,000 people – a third of the population of Évora. 

The energy generated will prevent the emission of 21,500 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to avoiding 37,000 return flights between Lisbon and London. In addition, the plant will offset the use of 14 million cubic metres of natural gas per year that would otherwise be required by combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plants to produce the same amount of energy.

During the construction phase, we estimate that between 270 and 370 direct and indirect jobs will be created, providing a significant boost to the local economy. 

In addition to the economic impact of its plants in the region, we are actively committed to fostering community well-being and supporting sustainable initiatives. In 2022 and 2023, we participated in “Cuidar Maior”, a project which supports informal caregivers of dementia and Alzheimer’s patients. 

In March 2023, we also began sponsoring the Riba d’Ave Hóquei Clube (RAHC), a local hockey club recognized for its youth training and sports development programs.
