BNZ signs two new international PPAs and strengthens its global portfolio

BNZ, an independent power producer that develops, builds, and operates multi-technology renewable energy projects, has successfully signed two power purchase agreements (PPAs) with two major energy multinationals, one French and one German. These agreements secure the commercialization of the energy produced by its Alamak and Alya solar plants, both located in the province of Cadiz, for a period of 5 years.

In the current context of transformation within the Spanish renewable energy sector, the closing of this dual transaction with clients of this caliber demonstrates BNZ’s commercial strength, as well as its strong execution capacity. Furthermore, beyond consolidating its main line of business, the company is advancing firmly in its evolution towards a comprehensive energy platform, placing energy management and hybridization at the center of its new roadmap. In doing so, the company transcends its role as a traditional developer to establish itself as a strategic partner capable of offering solutions tailored to current market needs.

In the words of Rodrigo López, Director of Revenue at BNZ, “these agreements reflect the period of expansion the company is currently experiencing, as well as the trust that key market players place in our assets. Our business model is evolving steadily; BNZ’s true strength today lies not only in developing reliable projects, but in applying cutting-edge energy management that enables us to structure long-term, flexible, and highly attractive solutions for the largest energy consumers in Europe”.

More than 250 MW of renewable capacity in Andalusia

In detail, the Alamak plant has 24.1 MW, while the Alya facility totals 47.7 MW. Together, these two new agreements secure the commercialization of 71.8 MW of installed capacity in the province of Cadiz, representing a total of 150 GWh of annual energy.

These projects consolidate BNZ’s strong presence in Andalusia, a key region where the company manages a total capacity exceeding 250 MW, with strategic facilities such as the Santa Catalina plant in Jaen, and the Hornosol, Terrera, and Ventura photovoltaic complexes in Almeria.

The new contracts represent a significant milestone for BNZ, consolidating its position in the European renewable energy market. The company also continues to execute its strategic plan, which will allow it to complete its renewable energy projects in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, where it holds a global portfolio exceeding 2.7 GW.

In line with its evolution towards a Next-Generation IPP, BNZ will continue to drive its diversification through hybridization projects and the deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS), key technologies that will contribute to maximizing the value of its assets and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of clean energy generation.
